Inez was born on Nov. 12, 1933, in Shell Knob, Mo., to John T. Mitchell and Leatha M.(Fletcher)Mitchell. She was narried to Clyde E. Canny in Ottumwa on Feb. 6, 1954, by Rev. Goldsboro. Mitchell and Leatha M.(Fletcher)Mitchell. She was narried to Clyde E. Canny in Ottumwa on Feb. 6, 1954, by Rev. Goldsboro. Unto this marriage four children were born, Deborah, Mark, Rick and Clifford. She grew up in the Shell Knob, Cassville and Butterfield areas. She drove a logging truck for her father's sawmill business and helped her mother by working in the Night Hawk Cafe in Cassville, Mo. After leaving home in 1953, she moved to Goodland, Kan., where she met the love of her life, Airman Clyde E. Canny. They spent most of their life living in Ottumwa except for 3 1/2 years in southern Missouri. In 1996 they moved back to Iowa to be around their children and grandchildren and settled down south of Bloomfield to enjoy the country life with their daughter. Until her health started failing, Inez enjoyed trout fishing at Roaring River State Park in Cassville, doing beadwork, listening to country music and spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Clyde E. Canny of Bloomfield; one daughter, Deborah J. Hines of Bloomfield; three sons, Mark(Cindy)Canny of Colfax, Rick(Martha)Canny and Clifford Canny, both of Bloomfield; one granddaughter and great-grandson, Lisa and Blake Howell of Bloomfield; seven grandsons, Alexander and Benjamin Canny of Colfax, Michael R. Canny of Ottumwa, Ronald E. Canny of Washington, Justin M. Canny of Wayland, Steven Boer of Bloomfield and Greg Boer of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Georgia(Richard)Krebs of Springfield, Mo., and Geneva Gilliland of Exeter, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Violet Pippin, Mae Mathews, Helen Hilton, Lily Hilton and Wilma Mitchell; one brother, Charles Mitchell; and one son-in-law, Ricardo "Rick" Hines. A funeral service will be 11 am Tuesday at Grace Funeral Care in Eldon; with Rev. Rick Admiral officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery in Eldon. Friends may call after 2 pm Monday at Grace Funeral Care in Eldon, where the family will be present for visitation from 4-6 pm Monday. A memorial fund is being established to assist the family with funeral expenses.
