Description	:	By Mrs. C. E. Peterson Ingeborg Knudsdatter Thune was born in Vang, Valders, in Norway on July 9, 1858, christened on October 3, 1858 and confirmed June 18, 1873. Death came Friday morning at 3:00 o'clock following an illness of pneumonia and pleurisy resulting from an attack of influenza. At the time of her death she was 72 years, 7 months, and 16 days of age. Deceased came to Northfield, Minnesota in 1879, going from there in 1881 to Granite Falls, where two years later, she was united in marriage to Thorwald H. Dahl, Rev. Deceased came to Northfield, Minnesota in 1879, going from there in 1881 to Granite Falls, where two years later, she was united in marriage to Thorwald H. Dahl, Rev. Ole Lokensgaard performing the ceremony. In 1884 Mr. and Mrs. Dahl moved to Griggs County, where they have since made their home on a farm four miles south of Binford. Ten children, six boys and four girls, were born to this union, one boy, Anton, preceding his mother in death 23 years ago. Mrs. Dahl was the soul of kindness. In any case of sickness or trouble, she would be ready with help or sympathy. Her memory will be cherished as a good neighbor and faithful friend. Deceased leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Thorwald H. Dahl and the children, namely, Mrs. Ida Pittenger, Mrs. Helga Vangen, John Dahl, Edwin Dahl, Iver Dahl, all of Binford, Knute Dahl, Cooperstown, Thomas Dahl, Hannaford, Mrs. Annie Johnson of Granite Falls, Minn., and Mrs. Mathilda Edwards of Killdeer. All the children were present at the funeral. There are also 40 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, besides other relatives who survive. Impressive funeral services were held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, of which congregation deceased was a member. Rev. Ovrebo of Aneta officiated. The floral tributes were many and beautiful, and the attendance was one of the largest held in this community. Interment was made in the cemetery west of Binford. Published in the Griggs County Sentinel-Courier, Cooperstown, North Dakota, March 6, 1931.
