Description	:	Ingrid Rise was born in Oppdal, Norway Sept. 3, 1886. She was the oldest of 10 children born to Marie Olsen Rise and Iver Rise. She, her sister, Mary and Olene (who died at age 9 months) were the only children born in Norway. Ingrid came to the United States with her parents and sister when she was a young teenager and they settled in Sioux City where she was employed as a domestic servant. She was the oldest of 10 children born to Marie Olsen Rise and Iver Rise. She, her sister, Mary and Olene (who died at age 9 months) were the only children born in Norway. Ingrid came to the United States with her parents and sister when she was a young teenager and they settled in Sioux City where she was employed as a domestic servant. While working at this job she met and fell in love with Andrew Langley, a young man (also from Norway) who worked for this same family. They married on December 26, 1911 and started their family right away. Together they had 6 children: Agnes Isabel Frahm (March 18, 1912-August 5, 1997); Leo Royal (April 21, 1914-Jan 23, 2011); Edith Marie Knutson (July 10, 1915-Aug 28, 1987); Marion Helen Hymore Gottsleben Jennings (Nov 18, 1917-July 17, 1995; Lillian Theoline Arfsten ( April 20, 1921-Aug 14, 1978; and Olene Jeanette Degan ( April 8, 1923- ). In May of 1924 Ingrid caught a "chill" in a late spring ice storm and developed "galloping pneumonia." She died on June 9th, 1924 at Hawarden, Iowa. The children were split up and lived with relatives.
