Her funeral service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, July 11 at Valley Springs Reformed Church, with burial at Pleasant View Cemetery in Valley Springs. Moss, 88, of Valley Springs, SD died Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Iola Mae Zoerink, daughter of John and Minnie (Groen) Zoerink, was born July 21, 1930 in Hull, IA. She attended Hull Christian School and graduated from Western Christian High School. Iola then taught for two years at a country school north of Hull and for five years at Hull Christian School. Iola was united in marriage with Henry Moss on June 1, 1955 in Hull. The couple lived in the Sioux Center, IA area before moving to a farm near Beaver Creek, MN in 1960. In 1975, they moved to Valley Springs, SD where the operated the Valley Cafe. They moved to Manley, MN in 1982. Iola began work as a Home Health Aide in 1984. She moved to Brandon, SD in 2016. Iola was a member of Valley Springs Reformed Church and an active Circle member. She was a member of Gideon’s International. Iola enjoyed reading and solving crossword puzzles. She made quilts for all of her grandkids. Iola also loved Sunday dinners and spending time with her family. Grateful for having shared her life are six children, Carl Moss and his wife, Cindy, Valley Springs, SD, Denise Rozeboom and her husband, Al, Pipestone, MN, Nora Halverson and her husband, Don, Kenneth, MN, Tylene Jansma and her husband, B.J., Beaver Creek, MN, Jolene De Beer and her husband, Marlyn, Adrian, MN, John Moss and his wife, Tonya, Sioux Falls, SD; 13 grandchildren, Amy, Angela, Staci, Jared, Janel, Derek, Ryan, Nicole, Misty, Greg, Tami, Megan, Madeline; 23 great-grandchildren; four siblings, Leone Metros, Seal Beach, CA, Mary Ann Van Meeteren, Sheldon, IA, Gail Craven and her husband, Tom, Costa Mesa, CA, Wayne Zoerink and his wife, Alex, Palm Harbor, FL; and many other relatives and friends. Iola was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, on October 12, 2000; a daughter, Marcia; her parents, John and Minnie Zoerink; and four siblings, Mitchell Zoerink, Ivan Zoerink, Betty Pierce and Merna Zoerink.
