Ione was born in Niobrara, Nebraska on October 29, 1925 to Clara and Ben Thompson. She graduated from Niobrara High School in 1943. Ione married Harold Connick in Niobrara on June 21, 1943. Harold and Ione lived in various towns across Northern Nebraska and Southern South Dakota for many of their early years. Connick died Sunday, May 31, 2020 at the Waterford Assisted Living Center in Lincoln at the age of 94. Ione was born in Niobrara, Nebraska on October 29, 1925 to Clara and Ben Thompson. She graduated from Niobrara High School in 1943. Ione married Harold Connick in Niobrara on June 21, 1943. Harold and Ione lived in various towns across Northern Nebraska and Southern South Dakota for many of their early years. They settled in Lincoln for several years before moving to Fremont for 42 years. In 2015, Ione moved back to Lincoln. She was a long time member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Fremont, NE. Ione loved her family, playing cards, crocheting afghans, and reading mystery novels. She made incredible "grandma rolls" to be enjoyed by family whenever they were at her home. Ione is survived by five daughters, Linda Feyereisen of Iona, SD, Nancy (Wes) Nelson of Sturgis, SD, Susan (Tom) Epp of Lincoln, NE, Elizabeth (Brad) Hamilton of Fremont, NE, and Karen (Stacy) Vandyke of Flower Mound, TX; two sons, Steven (Pam) Connick of Omaha, NE and Kevin (Lori) Connick of Lincoln, NE; three daughters in-law, Linda Connick and Vicki Connick of Fremont, NE and Pam Connick of Lincoln, NE, two sisters, Francis Prewitt of Sioux City, IA and Donna (Gerald) Vraspier of Iowa City, Iowa; two sisters in-law, Shirley Thompson of Verdigre, NE, and Julia Connick of Albuquerque, NM. She will be fondly remembered by her 24 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and one great-great grand son. She was preceded in death by husband, Harold; sons, Harold Jr, Dan, and Mike; son in-law Arlyn Feyereisen; her parents; seven of her siblings; one grandson Benjamin Epp, and great granddaughter Carys Rut. ...Contributor: delbert falsken (47053000)
