He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II, was a retired carpenter, a retired coal miner and a member of Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church since 1988. Read More	Ira Dee Osborne, 85, of Clintwood, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 in Norton Community Hospital, Norton. Born in Everts, KY, he was a son of the late William and Maude Cadell Osborne. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II, was a retired carpenter, a retired coal miner and a member of Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church since 1988. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, John and Floyd Osborne; sisters, Dorothy Thomas, Marie Poore, Velma Wilson and Pauline Jeffers; father and mother-in-law, Noah and Alpha Yates; several brothers and sisters-in-law. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Neva Lee Osborne; sons, Stephen (Gladys) Osborne of Pound, Michael (April) Osborne of Clintwood and Floyd (April) Osborne of Haysi; grandsons, Nicholas Osborne of Pound and Miles Osborne and Alec Osborne, both of Clintwood; granddaughters, Hannah (Grant) Wallace of Grundy and Anna Rose (Rosie) Osborne of Haysi; a sister, Lenora Reece of Knoxville, TN; several brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces. Funeral services were conducted Friday, February 17 at Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church with Danny Sluss and Darrell Milgrim officiating. Burial followed in the Rebecca Willis Cemetery, Haysi, with military graveside rites.Pallbearers were grandsons and nephews. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church and Dr. Sergent.
