Description	:	The burial of Ira W. Griggs, who died last week at Murray, Idaho, occurred at Union Cemetery beside the bodies of his parents on Sunday afternoon. Deceased was a brother of Miss Charlotte Griggs, who accompanied the body of her brother from the coast town to Groton. The Griggs family formerly lived south of Groton and were among the early settlers of this locality. The parents passed away many years ago. The Wallace, Idaho, Press-Times, has the following: Mr Griggs had been brought to a local hospital Saturday for an operation for appendicitis. The operation was successful and the patient rallied nicely, showing a marked improvement up until the time of his death which occurred as he reached for a drink of water and then sank back suddenly and passed away. Apoplexy was described as the cause. The deceased was born at Genoa, Ill., in 1866 and remained on a farm in that vicinity until with his parents, at the age of 16 years, he moved to South Dakota. About 18 years ago he came to Idaho and was one of the pioneers in the Murray district. In his disposition Mr. Griggs was modest and retiring. In his work he was most efficient. These two qualities won him the esteem and respect of all those with whom he came in contact. He was active in the councils of the republican party of Shoshone country, but never sought preferment for himself. At the time of his death he was head compressorman at Morning compressor. A brother, A. W. Griggs of Southern Idaho survives him.
