On pages 347-348, he is listed as the son of Athel Staggs and Sarah Harris and is named Tyra Jasper "Jas" Staggs. He is also referenced as T. Jasper Staggs in this book. There is no mention of him using the name "Ira J. Staggs". On US census records his name shows up in a variety of ways, including Ira J. Staggs, Tyra J. Staggs, Thomas J. Staggs, Jasper T. Staggs, Siraj Staggs, Larry J. Staggs. In the Indiana marriage Index his name is given as Tyra J. Staggs. So, I was quite surprised when I found the name on his gravestone to be Ira J. Staggs. Would it be possible to include the name Tyra in his name so that his memorial could be found more easily? I'm not sure if and how that would work using the Find a Grave Name Format and also allow the search function to work. I may be hoping for the sky. (Creator note: I have attempted to make him findable by Tyra by adding the name Tyra to the "nickname" section. If that doesn't work, or anyone else has any ideas, please let me know.)
