Mr. Overton passed away Monday, December 13, 1954, at the Hastings hospital. He had been in poor health for several years. He was born March 31, 1874, at Greenbay, Iowa, and passed away at the age of 80 years, 8 months, and 13 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Zella Felton at Angus, Nebraska, March 17, 1898, and to this union were born three children. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary March 17, 1954. They have spent the last 20 years of their life in Clay Center. Mr. Overton has been a member of the Christian church since childhood. Mrs. Overton preceded him in death August 21st of this year. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lora Basey of Greeley, Colo., and Mrs. Carrie Young of Grand Junction, Colo., and one son, Clarence of Alliance, Nebr., one sister, Mrs. Grace Clark of Wymore, Nebr., eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren.
