Description	:	Ira Whitzman Dead Ira Whitzman died Tuesday afternoon from influenza complicated with pneumonia. He took sick Saturday or Sunday and influenza led to pneumonia, causing his death Tuesday. His illness was very short and news of his death came as a shock to many of his friends and acquaintances. Ira Whitzman was born in Indiana September 4th, 1884 and died in Claflin October 22, 1918, aged 34 years, one month and 18 days. He came to Claflin, first in 1908 and has made this his home since then. ... Read More	Ira Whitzman Dead Ira Whitzman died Tuesday afternoon from influenza complicated with pneumonia. He took sick Saturday or Sunday and influenza led to pneumonia, causing his death Tuesday. His illness was very short and news of his death came as a shock to many of his friends and acquaintances. Ira Whitzman was born in Indiana September 4th, 1884 and died in Claflin October 22, 1918, aged 34 years, one month and 18 days. He came to Claflin, first in 1908 and has made this his home since then. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and the Odd Fellows here, being Chancellor Commander of the former, at the time of his death. Funeral services were not publicly held and were conducted by his brother Odd Fellows. Burial was made in the Claflin Cemetery yesterday afternoon. Ira leaves his mother, Mrs. Whitzman of Claflin, and three sisters, Mrs. John H. and Mrs. Renus Jordan, also of Claflin, and one sister in Indianapolis, Indiana, to mourn his death. --The Claflin Clarion (Claflin, KS), Thurs., Oct. 24, 1918, Pg. 1
