Mrs Osborn had been and invalid for the past two years and at her advanced age ther was at no time hope for her recovery. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Chas. Dix of the Battle Creek M.E. church, were held at the residence Tuesday afternoon and interment was made at the family burying ground near Mt Zion Church. Read More	OBITUARY OF IRENA COX OSBORN "Grandma Osborn", head of the Osborn family of Madison County, Nebraska died Sunday at the home of her son, Joseph, in Schoolcraft. Mrs Osborn had been and invalid for the past two years and at her advanced age ther was at no time hope for her recovery. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Chas. Dix of the Battle Creek M.E. church, were held at the residence Tuesday afternoon and interment was made at the family burying ground near Mt Zion Church. Friends from all over the county attended the services. Grandma Osborn was a typical southern lady, far-famed for her hospitality and her readiness to lend aid to all in times of sickness or trouble. When her children came to Madison County from Virginia years ago she came with them, and until late years was active in the various homes in which she was always received and honored as a mother considerate of the happiness and welfare of her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Irena Osborn, whose maiden name was Cox, was born in Grayson County, Virginia, October 1, 1823, her age at time of death being 82 years, 9 months and 21 days. She was married September 11, 1845 to Enoch Osborn, who died twenty-eight years ago. To this union were born 8 sons and 6 daughters, all of whom survive .Since the age of fifteen she had been a consistant member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Besides her fourteen children, Mrs Osborn is survived by sixty-seven grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
