Description	:	LEOMINSTER- Irene Alice (Dion) Goguen, 103, longtime Leominster resident of 44 Keystone Drive, Leominster, died Saturday July 4, 2009, in the Keystone Center, Leominster, after an illness. She was born March 6, 1906 in Leominster, MA, the daughter of the late Joseph O. Dion and Angelina (Rivard) Dion. Mrs. Goguen was the youngest and last remaining of 12 children. She was born March 6, 1906 in Leominster, MA, the daughter of the late Joseph O. Dion and Angelina (Rivard) Dion. Mrs. Goguen was the youngest and last remaining of 12 children. She leaves many nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. Her loving husband of over 60 years, Ovila "Jack" Goguen, died in 1990. Irene had an amazing and full life. She was a lifelong resident of Leominster, growing up in the French Hill Section where she spent most of her life. She left school at an young age to help her mother support the family after the death of her father. She remained a devoted and loving sister and aunt throughout her life and was always there to help her large extended family. She was always open to new adventures and loved to travel. She enjoyed visits to family and trips all over the world. She and her husband Jack were entrepreneurs, owning businesses in Leominster, Florida and Rye Beach, New Hampshire. She was always well dressed and had a tremendous sense of style. She had an easy smile, loved to laugh and was so much fun to be with. Although she had no children of her own she was the matriarch of her large extended family. She was very loved and cherished by all whom knew her. She will be dearly missed. She was a lifelong member of St Cecilia's Church, the Ladies of St Anne and St Jean deBaptiste Society. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of the Keystone Center for their dedication, care, and kindness. A funeral service will be held on Thursday July 9, 2009 in Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St. Leominster at 1 P.M. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Leominster.
