Description	:	Irene Sivertson, age 76 of Bottineau, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at a Bottineau nursing home. Her memorial service will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Read More	Irene Sivertson, age 76 of Bottineau, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at a Bottineau nursing home. Her memorial service will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Irene Sivertson, a daughter of Earl and Violet (Lapish) Brekke, was born on November 20, 1944 at Ross, ND. She grew up in the Turtle Mountains north of Bottineau and attended country school. She worked as a waitress at the Saunder's Cafe. On June 12, 1961, she married Norman Sivertson in Bowbells, ND. They made their home in the Turtle Mountains. Irene worked as a waitress at Sonny's County Lanes in Bottineau for a time. On February 16, 2018 she moved into the Bottineau Good Samaritan Center in Bottineau. Norman passed away on May 5, 2018. She was a member of the Turtle Mountain Church near Carbury, where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed gardening and yard work. She loved hosting holidays with her children and grandchildren, especially Christmas. Her children and grandchildren were very important to her. She is survived by her sons, Lonnie Sivertson of Bottineau and Don (Mary) Sivertson of Fargo; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Floyd Brekke of Eaglebend, MN and LeRoy Brekke of Rapid City, SD. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son and her daughter, LaRae Hintz.
