Mrs. Sipes was born January 27, 1916 at Hoffman, Okla., the daughter of Clyde and Eva E. Salyer Dunn. Irene was a businesswoman and homemaker. She was raised in Farlington and attended Pittsburg Schools. Irene lived in Mindenmines, Wichita, Pittsburg, Arma, and Franklin. Read More	FRANKLIN — Irene E. Sipes, 92, of Franklin died at 4:21 A.M. Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Cornerstone Village at Pittsburg. Mrs. Sipes was born January 27, 1916 at Hoffman, Okla., the daughter of Clyde and Eva E. Salyer Dunn. Irene was a businesswoman and homemaker. She was raised in Farlington and attended Pittsburg Schools. Irene lived in Mindenmines, Wichita, Pittsburg, Arma, and Franklin. She and her husband owned and operated JuRene Ceramic Molds in Franklin until retiring in 1975. Irene married E. F. "Junior" Sipes on December 16, 1934 at Dudenville, Mo. Mr. Sipes preceded her in death April 9, 1995. Irene loved flowers and her beautiful yard. She was adopted grandmother to Class Limited Clients in Pittsburg. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Scholes and her husband Bill, of rural Pittsburg, two grandchildren, Larry Scholes and his wife Becky, of Mindenmines, and Kerri Rea and her husband Ivan, of Joplin, and three great grandchildren, Beth Scholes, Brad Scholes and his wife, Aki, and Hunter Scholes. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Sandra Lynn Sipes, and four brothers, Ralph, Jackie, Glenn, and Gordon Dunn. Private graveside services were Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery with the Rev. Dan Moss officiating.
