Description	:	Irene B. DuBois, 96, a resident of Franklin for most of her life, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at the Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen following a period of declining health. Irene was born in Salisbury, May 28, 1918, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Noe) England. After her children completed their schooling, Irene worked as a lunch lady at the Franklin High School cafeteria, and later for many years in housekeeping at the Merrimack County Nursing Home. DuBois, 96, a resident of Franklin for most of her life, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at the Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen following a period of declining health. Irene was born in Salisbury, May 28, 1918, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Noe) England. After her children completed their schooling, Irene worked as a lunch lady at the Franklin High School cafeteria, and later for many years in housekeeping at the Merrimack County Nursing Home. She enjoyed spending time with family. Irene was very fond of books, especially poetry, many of which she could recite from memory. She loved to travel and made trips to California, Florida, Italy and Hawaii to name a few. Irene was predeceased by her husband, Walter, four brothers, Donald, Rene, Robert and Leslie and her sister, Margaret . She leaves two daughters, Janice Kenney of Hooksett and Deborah Davis of Cape Porpoise, Maine; three sons, Richard W. DuBois of Northfield, Dennis L. DuBois of Bradenton, Fla., and David W. DuBois of Ellenton, Fla.; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. Callings hours will be held Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road (584 West Main St.) in Tilton. A graveside service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Holy Cross Cemetery in Franklin.
