She was born July 7, 1938, in Beloit to Paul and Sarah Helen (Geisler) Zentz. Irene attended schools in Jewell County, where she was a cheerleader for high school basketball games. Read More	Irene Peak CONCORDIA -- Irene Peak, 71, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia. She was born July 7, 1938, in Beloit to Paul and Sarah Helen (Geisler) Zentz. Irene attended schools in Jewell County, where she was a cheerleader for high school basketball games. On Aug. 3, 1963, she married James Bennett Peak. She operated a cleaning business in Arizona and later was the owner and operator of Kountry Kitchen from 1980 to 1994. She later worked for her daughter and son-in-law at Kristy's Restaurant until she retired in 2009. Irene was a member of Moose Lodge 1428 from 1994 to 2000, the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries, all of Concordia. Survivors include her daughters, Vickie Wright, of Oklahoma, Jackie Geisler, of Hastings, Neb., and Kristy Studt and husband Tony, Lisa Davis and Shasta LeDuc, all of Concordia; son, John Ellis and wife Carol, of Salina; sister, Audrey Houser and husband Ray, of Concordia; brother, Larry Zentz, of Concordia; 20 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, in January 2005; parents; two brothers, Everett and Gary; and a granddaughter, Jacqueline Nolsheim.Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, 325 W. Sixth St., P.O. Box 606, Concordia 66901, with family greeting friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, at the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Bob Burns officiating, followed by burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia.
