Description	:	Irene Josephine Ruroden, 86, Monona, Iowa, formerly of Postville, Iowa, died Friday, December 12, 2008, at her daughter's home in Monona, Iowa, following a long illness. Irene was born on January 5, 1922, rural Clermont, Iowa, to Albert O. and Bertina A. (Anderson) Halverson. She was baptized and confirmed at West Clermont Lutheran Church by the Rev. G. Gunster. Read More	Irene Josephine Ruroden, 86, Monona, Iowa, formerly of Postville, Iowa, died Friday, December 12, 2008, at her daughter's home in Monona, Iowa, following a long illness. Irene was born on January 5, 1922, rural Clermont, Iowa, to Albert O. and Bertina A. (Anderson) Halverson. She was baptized and confirmed at West Clermont Lutheran Church by the Rev. G. Gunster. Irene attended several rural schools in the area and graduated from Clermont High School in 1939. Irene was united in marriage to Alvin L. Ruroden on August 23, 1941, in Kahola, Missouri. Four children were born to this union. Irene and Alvin farmed together for many years near Postville, Iowa. She shared in the many chores working on the farm as well as raising their four children. In 1968, Irene and Alvin sold their farm and moved to Maquoketa, Iowa, and later to Calamus, Iowa. In 1976, Irene moved to Monona, Iowa, and for the past six months has been living with her daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Fred. Irene was a long-time member of the West Clermont Lutheran Church and West Clermont WELCA. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her three daughters: Dixie (Charles) Dobbs, Weeping Water, NE; Bonnie (Frederick) Heins, Monona; Karen (David) Frame, Elko, MN; seven grandchildren: Jacalyn (Brad) Groesser, Cathy (Tim) Callaway, Douglas (Heather) Heins, Kevin Dobbs, Stephanie (Michael) Frame-Day, Brandon Heins (fiance, Laci Thomas), Gregory (Ingrid) Frame; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Lillian Hansel, West Union; two brothers: Harold (Gladys) Halverson, Elgin; Louis (Darlene) Halverson, Stoughton, WI; one brother-in-law, Harold Patrick, Hawkeye, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin Ruroden, on July 18, 1976; her son, Daryl Ruroden; one sister, Frances Bemiss; one brother, DeVere Halverson; one grandson, Jeffrey Heins
