She married Raymond Phillips on Sept. 21, 1933. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1996. Surviving is a son, Gene(Sally)Phillips, of Ottumwa; a daughter, Jo Ann(Jack)Powers, of Council Bluffs; seven grandchildren, Jack(Nancy)Powers, of Crescent, Gary(Ann)Powers, of Council Bluffs, Julie Homer, of Council Bluffs, Joni(Charles)Huddleston, of Omaha, Neb., Kevin Phillips, of Unionville, Kris(Mike)O'Malley, of Urbandale, and Kerry(Dr. Cynthia)Phillips, of Agency; five step-grandchildren, Elileen(John)Courtney, of Ottumwa, William Jarman, of Ottumwa, Brinda Day, of Kansas City, MO., Jeff(Jennie)Dalbey, of Ottumwa, and Lisa Kitterman, of Ottumwa; 12 great-grandchildren; 10 step-great grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; six step-great-great-grandchildren; two half-sisters, Francis Leedom and Charlotte Urich, both of Ottumwa; along with two special home care workers, Brenda and Tammy. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Edna Thompson. Funeral mass will be held at 11 am Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church; with Father Patrick Hilgendorf presiding. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation begins at 11 am Monday at Reece Funeral Home. A Christian wake service will be held at 5 pm Monday followed by family visitation until 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Humane Society, Ottumwa, IA.
