Irene was born January 13, 1918 to Lewis and Mable (Snover) Warner in North Bend, NE. She grew up on a farm north of North Bend and graduated from North Bend High School. After graduation, she moved to Omaha, NE and worked as a receptionist at a dentist office. She later moved to a farm nine miles west of Webster. Mitties, 97 years, of North Bend, NE passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Shalimar Gardens in Fremont, NE. Irene was born January 13, 1918 to Lewis and Mable (Snover) Warner in North Bend, NE. She grew up on a farm north of North Bend and graduated from North Bend High School. After graduation, she moved to Omaha, NE and worked as a receptionist at a dentist office. She later moved to a farm nine miles west of Webster. In 1941, she resided on a farm 4 ¾ miles north and ½ mile east of North Bend farming and raising her children. She loved to spend time making wedding mints for families, and molded and collected delicate shoes made of ceramic and leather. She was the oldest member and past Sunday school teacher at the United Presbyterian Church in North Bend, and member of VFW Post 8223 Auxiliary of North Bend. She is survived by her son, Gary Mitties of North Bend, NE; daughters, Janice Jennings of Fremont, NE, Charlene Hammons of Columbus, NE; grandchildren, Miranda Hammons, Travis Hammons, Aaron Hammons all of Columbus, NE, and Albert Jennings of Denver, CO; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; ex-husband, Merlin Mitties; brother, Howard Warner; and sisters, Hazel, Grace, and Bernice. Funeral Service will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, December 3, 2015 at United Presbyterian Church in North Bend, NE. The Rev. Michael Hill will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M., with family receiving friends from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery, North Bend. Memorials may be directed to the North Bend Fire Department or the United Presbyterian Church in North Bend." Published at Moser Memorial Chapel, North Bend, Nebraska.
