Description	:	Irene Mae Zeigler was born on September 29, 1919 at home near Millboro, South Dakota. She was the first daughter and fourth child of Leslie and Jessie Anderson Zeigler. She attended rural school for eight years. The first three years of high school were at Millboro High School. She rode a horse across country through the Keya Paha River to school. To this union three children were born; Phillip,... Read More	Irene Mae Zeigler was born on September 29, 1919 at home near Millboro, South Dakota. She was the first daughter and fourth child of Leslie and Jessie Anderson Zeigler. She attended rural school for eight years. The first three years of high school were at Millboro High School. She rode a horse across country through the Keya Paha River to school. She had a lifelong love of horses and always said they were her favorite animal. She graduated from Winner High School in 1937. Irene married Phillip S. Williams on September 24, 1938. To this union three children were born; Phillip, JoAnn and Alan. Irene was baptized July 25, 1941, along with her daughter JoAnn at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Clearfield, South Dakota. "Shird" passed away from tuberculosis on April 19, 1949. This left Irene with three small children and a farm to care for. Irene married Rudy Cerv on September 18, 1950. To this union six more children made the family complete; John, Margaret, Kaye, Karen, Robert and Calvin. Rudy and Irene moved to Winner, South Dakota in 1983. Rudy passed away on December 20, 1987. Irene continued to live in her home until December 2010 when she moved into the Elder Inn. In November of this year she was admitted to the Winner Hospital. After three weeks she went to the Rock County Long Term Care Center in Bassett, Nebraska. She resided there for one month and one day. Jesus called her home on December 30, 2011 at the age of 92 years old. She is survived by her nine children; Phillip (Macie), San Diego, CA, JoAnn (Charles) Ice, Los Osos, CA, Alan, Spearfish, SD, John (Janet), Clearfield, SD, Peg (Jerry) Focken, Springview, NE, Kaye (John) Thiede, Springview, NE, Karen (Curt) Luther, Bassett, NE, Bob, Winner, SD, and Calvin (Amber), Winner, SD, 20 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, her sister Leona Dowden, Freeman, SD, and a sister-in-law, Marjorie Ziegler, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents Leslie and Jessie Zeigler, her husbands, "Shird" Williams and Rudy Cerv, four brothers; Mervin, Eugene, Gerald and Leonard, a grandson David Williams and two daughters-in-law, Betty Williams and Lee Williams.
