Description	:	Irene Minnie McGinn, age 93, of Fremont, NE, formerly of North Bend, NE died Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the Pathfinder House in Fremont, NE. She was born December 12, 1918 in Scribner, NE to Charles and Lizzie (Bauer) Spath. She grew up in Scribner and graduated from Scribner High School. She married Marvin McGinn September 17, 1941 in Fremont. Marvin died May 25, 2007. Irene and her husband operated McGinn's IGA, a family grocery store, in North Bend. Read More	Irene Minnie McGinn, age 93, of Fremont, NE, formerly of North Bend, NE died Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the Pathfinder House in Fremont, NE. She was born December 12, 1918 in Scribner, NE to Charles and Lizzie (Bauer) Spath. She grew up in Scribner and graduated from Scribner High School. She married Marvin McGinn September 17, 1941 in Fremont. Marvin died May 25, 2007. Irene and her husband operated McGinn's IGA, a family grocery store, in North Bend. After selling the grocery business they donated the building to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post; that building is now home to both the Veterans of Foreign Wars and AmVets Post of North Bend. They moved to the family farm in 1972 and operated McGinn's Farms and managed McGinn's Lakes Housing. Irene was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend. She was previously a member of a bowling league. Irene enjoyed her family and having an identical twin sister. Survivors include: son – Mike McGinn of North Bend, NE; sister-in-law, Jean Groff of Morse Bluff; 4 grandchildren - Seth (Sonja) McGinn, Audrey McGinn, Erica (Marcus) File, and Emmily McGinn; and 6 great grandchildren - Jacob, Gunnar & Reid McGinn and Alexis, Lynden & Henley File. She was preceded in death by: parents; husband - Marvin; sons - Patrick and Jimmy McGinn; 1 twin sister - Arlene Schultz; and 1 brother - Harlan Spath. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M., Thursday, December 13, 2012 at St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend. Father Donald Cleary will officiate. Visitation will be 3-8 P.M. Wednesday at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend with a Rosary/Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery in North Bend. Memorials may be directed to the North Bend Golf Course Tree Fund.
