Irene G (Nelson) Rempp of Spencer, Nebraska, beloved wife of Frank Rempp, died Monday, September 5, 2016. The daughter of Thomas and Emma (Trimble) Nelson, she was born February 20, 1943, in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. On December 28, 1964, she married Franklin W. Rempp at Marty, South Dakota. Three children, Leo, Carol, and Tom were born to them. Irene graduated from Holy Rosary Catholic School near Pine Ridge, South Dakota. She later earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Kearney State College in December 1979, and her Master of Science Degree from Wayne State College in May 1988. She was a home economics teacher and guidance counselor in various schools in Nebraska and South Dakota. Irene was an avid bowler. In every community she and Frank lived in, she found a league to join. Her other hobbies included sewing and crocheting. She made many blankets, clothes, and Halloween costumes for her children, grandchildren, and other family members through the years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spencer. Throughout her years as a parishioner there, she taught CCD, was a member of the choir, and an EMHC. She was also a member of the Altar Society serving on several committees and holding various offices. Irene was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Irene is survived by her husband, Frank; children, Leo of Spencer, NE, Carol Rempp of Santee, NE, Tom (Jolene) of Crawford, NE; daughter-in-law, Kerri Rempp of Harrison, NE; grandchildren, Ben, Taylor and Kodie; sister, Leonita (Bunny) Lasley of Omaha, NE; brother, Jim (Ike) Nelson of Lancaster, CA; and niece and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Emma Nelson of Manderson, SD; Juanita (Bug) Deno of Spokane, WA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Camille Rempp of Yankton, SD.
