Description	:	Irene Pitzer Irene Pitzer, 81, of Route 1, Moatsville, died Friday morning, Oct. 31, 2003, in the Grafton City Hospital Nursing Care Facility following an extended illness. She was born Dec. 14, 1921, at Philippi, the daughter of the late Luther A. and Nora Elma Janes Utterback. Her husband, Harold Pitzer, preceded her in death on May 3, 1986. Surviving are one daughter, Carolyn K. Alexander and husband, Chester, Moatsville; two sons, Warren R. Pitzer and wife, Trish, Mentor, Ohio, and Jay Walter Pitzer, Richmond, Va.; one sister, Lou Ann Duke, Virginia Beach, Va.; one brother, Carl Utterback, Moatsville; six grandchildren, including a grandson... Pitzer and wife, Trish, Mentor, Ohio, and Jay Walter Pitzer, Richmond, Va.; one sister, Lou Ann Duke, Virginia Beach, Va.; one brother, Carl Utterback, Moatsville; six grandchildren, including a grandson raised by Mrs. Pitzer, Richard Peters, Moatsville; and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one stepgrandson, Allan Donovan. Mrs. Pitzer was a homemaker. She had lived much of her working life in Ohio and, as a youth, attended the Mt. Morris United Methodist Church. Friends may call at the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home in Philippi from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday when funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dot Smith-Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in the Belington Fraternal Cemetery. Stemple & Forman Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
