Services will be 2pm Monday at First Evangelical Free Church, with the Rev. Dan Doran officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Irene was born 23 April 1922 in Anamosa Iowa the daughter of Arthur and Margaret Breen Rion. She spent her childhood in Arkansas. She attended school in Arkansas and later in Iowa. SHE married Arland R Anderson on 20 March 1942 in Omaha, where they lived for a few months. Arland, went into the U.S. Marine Corps. She then visited relatives in California for a few months before finally settling in Sioux City, where they lived the remainder of their lives. She baby-sat many children including babies, throughout he Lutheran Welfare Services. She continued to take care of children though the 1960's. SHE was an excellent cook, and baker. She enjoyed decorating cakes for many others. She took great pride in her Irish Heritage and doing work in her year and gardens, which she and Arland shared over the years. She too great pleasure in the times spent with her family. SHE is survived by her children: Dennis (elaine) Andersen of Grimes Iowa, Diane (loren) Kuecker of Le Mars Iowa, Lynette (jeff) Johnson of Sioux City..and her grandchildren. SHE was preceded in death by her husband, Arland R Anderson, her parents, her daughter, Lisa Annette, and her son, Alan Robert, 4 brothers, Earl, Claude, Ernest and Arthur, 2 sisters, Margaret Steinkoenig and Wilma Prince.
