Description	:	Funeral services for Irma Lucas Hudson, 59, of Pelion, will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, February 13, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Gaston with Dr. Larry Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Hudson was born in Columbia, a daughter of Juanita Dowd Lucas Barr and the late Charlie Daniel Lucas, Jr. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Gaston. She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina. She was a dedicated registered nurse for over thirty-five years, who loved taking care of others. The greatest joy in her life was being a mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed gardening, tending to her house, and shagging. She cherished her lifelong friendships with Sunnie Gail Pound and Sharon Parrish. Survivors include two sons: Kyle C. (Wrenn) Lucas and Jonathan Hudson, both of Pelion; a daughter, Erin Newton (Bo), of Sandy Run; her mother, Juanita Barr, of Pelion; two sisters: Glenda Lucas Amick, of Pomaria; and Annette Lucas Almond, of Sandy Run; 10 grandchildren: Brooke, Jacob, Kylie, Hannah, Halle, Karsen, Taylor, Cassie, Ally, and Ryan. She was predeceased by two sisters: Patricia Lucas and Marilyn Lucas Dykes. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m., Monday at the church, and other times at the home, 1672 Pine Street, Pelion. Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North (www.mcalhanyfh.com) is in charge of arrangements.
