She had resided at Locust Grove Village, La Crosse, Kansas, for the past ten years. Irma, the oldest of three children, was born July 8, 1917, in Lucas, Kansas, to Carl and Bertha (Chard) Fox and was raised on a farm in Cedron Township, Lincoln County, Kansas. Read More	Irma Uldeen (Fox) Misegadis, a resident of Rush County since 1938 passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the age of 95 years. She had resided at Locust Grove Village, La Crosse, Kansas, for the past ten years. Irma, the oldest of three children, was born July 8, 1917, in Lucas, Kansas, to Carl and Bertha (Chard) Fox and was raised on a farm in Cedron Township, Lincoln County, Kansas. She attended a one room rural grade school, graduated from Lucas High School, Lucas, Kansas, in 1935, and in 1937 graduated from the business college in Hutchinson, Kansas. While working in Hutchinson, Irma met her lifelong partner, D. H. "Dick" Misegadis, and was married on February 5, 1938 in Manhattan, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1997. For many years, she was strictly a homemaker and farm wife until her return to the business world during the 1950's when Irma worked as a bookkeeper for the Rush Center Co-op, Rush Center, Kansas, and later for Pepsi Cola and Montgomery Ward in Topeka, Kansas. In 1958 Irma became employed as an administrative clerk for the ASCS office of Rush County and held this position until her retirement in 1978. After her retirement, she was active in the Lutheran church and canned lots of garden produce that Dick grew. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Rush Center, Kansas. Irma will be remembered as a person of quiet strength and deep faith who held education in high regard. She was loyal, feisty, fun loving, practical with much common sense, and was much loved by her family and friends. Survivors include: two sons, Eldon Misegadis and his wife, Mary, Great Bend, Kansas, and Todd Misegadis and his wife, Robin, Rush Center, Kansas; two daughters, Yvonne Lewis, Phoenix, Arizona, and Dianna Mantz and her husband, Gary, Bazine, Kansas; six grandchildren, Brenda Kisslinger and her husband, Myron, Greg Mantz, Anne Richardson, Doug Richardson and his wife, Hannah, Christina Campbell, and Jason Misegadis; five great grandchildren, Ashley Mantz, Thomas Heily, Hailey Misegadis, Sarah Campbell, and Chellsea Misegadis; one sister, Alita Popp; two sisters-in-law, Mae Schlegel and Pauline Misegadis; and one brother-in-law, Dale Misegadis. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant daughter, Arlene Misegadis; one son-in-law, Fred Lewis; and one brother, Earl Fox. Visitation will be Friday, May 10, 2013, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, Kansas, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Church visitation will be Saturday, May 11, 2013, from 9:30 A.M. to 10:20 A.M. at Hope Lutheran Church, Rush Center, Kansas. Funeral service will be Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 10:30 A.M. at Hope Lutheran Church, Rush Center, Kansas, with Reverend Patricia Reep officiating. Interment will be in Nekoma Union Township Cemetery, Nekoma, Kansas. Memorials are suggested to Hope Lutheran Church, Rush Center, Kansas, or Walnut Valley Senior Center, Rush Center, Kansas.
