Description	:	Irvin Nissen was born to Alfred and Agnes Andersen Nissen on November 6, 1917 at Marquette, Neb. His death occurred at Aurora, Neb. on May 23, 1978, after a lingering illness at age 60. He had spent his entire lifetime in the Marquette community and received his education in the schools of that vicinity, receiving his diploma from the Marquette High School. Read More	Irvin Nissen was born to Alfred and Agnes Andersen Nissen on November 6, 1917 at Marquette, Neb. His death occurred at Aurora, Neb. on May 23, 1978, after a lingering illness at age 60. He had spent his entire lifetime in the Marquette community and received his education in the schools of that vicinity, receiving his diploma from the Marquette High School. At an early age he was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kronborg. He was a faithful servant to his church and community. He served on the church council and committees, the Marquette School Board and on the Marquette town board and the Volunteer Fire Department. On March 5, 1939 he was united in marriage to Rigmor Holst at St. John's Lutheran Church. They made their home on a farm east of Marquette for several years. Three daughters were born to them. After farming for several years, they moved into Marquette where he was employed as Feed Mill Manager, later managed the Lumber Yard in Marquette and the past few years has worked as a self employed carpenter. His father, one daughter, Ruth Jensin and an infant brother, Dean Nissen had preceded him in death. Irvin was a loving father and husband and leaves to mourn, his wife, Rigmor; two daughters, Mrs. Janelle Huneke and Mrs. Connie Petersen, both of Lincoln; his mother, Mrs. Agnes Nissen of Marquette, one sister Mrs. Ieleen Larsen of North Platte, Neb.; two grandsons, Kevin Huneke and Jason Petersen and other relatives and many close friends.
