Description	:	Irvin Fray Graves, 90, formerly from Syria in Madison County, VA, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 at The Heritage Inn Assisted Living and Memory Care Community in Charlottesville, VA. He was born January 10, 1928 to the late Francis Madison Graves, Sr. and Anne Virginia Fray Graves. His wife of 63 years, Jeanne Elizabeth Wenzel Graves, also preceded him in death. He was born January 10, 1928 to the late Francis Madison Graves, Sr. and Anne Virginia Fray Graves. His wife of 63 years, Jeanne Elizabeth Wenzel Graves, also preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, James “Jay” Irvin Graves and wife, Patty, of Madison, VA; a brother, Dr. F. Madison Graves, Jr., of Madison, VA; sisters, Lois Anne Graves Reedy, of Ocala, FL and Patricia Graves Berry, of Earlysville, VA; granddaughters, Melody Anne Graves and fiancé, Trevor Gray, of Bluffton, SC, Hannah Lee White and husband, Evan, of Barboursville, VA, and Abigail Jeanne Hollis and husband Chris, of Ruckersville, VA; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Irvin retired from Trailways as a bus driver after 27 years of service and returned to his first love; Madison County and life as a farmer. “Paw Paw”, as he was known by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, will always be remembered by his love of horses, cows, apple butter, and anything that had to do with the Graves’ farm and family. He will also be missed by his numerous trail-riding buddies. The family would like to thank the staff at The Heritage Inn, and Legacy Hospice, for their tender, loving care and support for the past 5 years. A celebration of Life will be held at Hebron Lutheran Church, where he was a member, 899 Blankenbaker Rd, Madison, on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the Hebron Cemetery for him and his wife.
