He was the retired owner and logger of Withers Logging Company, Callao, Va., and a member of Henderson United Methodist Church, Callao, Va. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Glenn C. Withers and Irving A. Withers Sr.; and one brother, Maynard D. Withers. He is survived by one daughter, Teresa W. Lewis and her husband, Jimmy, of Haynesville, Va.; three sons, Dennis M. Withers and his wife, Edith, Norman L. Withers and his wife, Linda; sisters, Elsie W. Newsome and her husband, Bucky, Peggy W. Lawrence and her husband, Ed, Nancy W. Wood and her husband, Ray, Janice W. Bashore and her husband, Gary, Mary Dean Withers and Martha Lynn Withers. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Jimmy Barnes. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 1, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Jones-Ash Funeral Home, Heathsville, Va. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 2, at 2 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Henderson United Methodist Church, Callao, Va.
