(Irvy) Martin, 70, of 308 Chester Ave. died at 10 p.m. Jan 4, 1985, at his home. He was born Aug. 25, 1914, at Robinsdale, Minn., to Henry and Emily Johnstone Martin. A resident of Ottumwa since 1959, he was a heavy equipment salesman, retiring in 1979. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He married Valeta Williams on July 3, 1950, at Iowa City. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Irving Martin of Cedar Rapids and David Williams of Burlington; two daughters, Patricia Albin of Branson, Mo. and Jacqueline Sloan of Marion; 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; six grandchildren reared in the home, David and Terry Williams of Davenport, Kathy Sedore of Benton, Ill., Linda Long and Teresa Lasser of Ottumwa and Betty Theisen of Des Moines; and six brothers, Lester of Port Orchard, Wash., Elwin and Lee of Cedar Rapids, George of Ottumwa, Gordy of Mt. Vernon, and Richard of Ely. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Reece Funeral Home, the Rev Paul C. Hart of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church officiating. A memorial in his name has been established to the funeral home.
