Description	:	Georgetown Irving Henry "Hal" Stearns, Jr., 71, widower of Glenda Sue Stearns, died Monday, January 12, 2015, at his residence. Mr. Stearns was born March 20, 1943, in Georgetown, a son of the late Irving Henry Stearns, Sr., and the late Kathryn Smith Stearns. He grew up in Georgetown County and graduated from Andrews High School. He served in the military reserves and worked for International Paper Company more than 30 years. Mr. Stearns was born March 20, 1943, in Georgetown, a son of the late Irving Henry Stearns, Sr., and the late Kathryn Smith Stearns. He was a member of Sampit United Methodist Church. He was survived by a son, Daniel Hal Stearns of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Katherine Susanne McDaniel of Georgetown; three grandchildren, David Harold McDaniel, III, Jonathan Andrew McDaniel, and Christopher Thomas McDaniel; and two sisters, Kathy Hyde of Troy, Michigan, and Linda Salani of Hendersonville, NC. Graveside services were 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015, in Sampit United Methodist Cemetery. The Rev. Curtis Hewitt officiated. Burial, directed by Mayer Funeral Home, followed.
