Description	:	Funeral services were held March 13 for Irwin R. Leesley of Ashland who died March 9 at Lincoln at the age of 79. The Rev. Richard Odgers officiated at the 10 a.m. service held at Marcy Mortuary Chapel in Ashland. Pallbearers were Gary Hoover, Donald Miner, Rick Goering, William Hoover, Robert Daniels, Jr., Jerry Rice, Sr. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth. Irwin Robert Leesley was born on Dec. 13, 1912, in Plattsmouth to Earl and Mary (Long) Leesley. He attended school in Eddyville, Neb., through the ninth grade. On April 29, 1942, Irwin entered the U.S. Army. After serving during World War II, Irwin was discharged on Jan. 20, 1946. He was married to Rosalie Adelia Miner on Dec. 3, 1949 at Wahoo. He was employed as a carpenter for Peter Kiewit Construction. Rosalie and Irwin lived in Springfield for 16 years, with the following 16 years in Ashland. Irwin served as the town marshal of Springfield earlier in life. He is survived by his wife Rosalie Leesley of Ashland, stepsons Robert Daniels of Cedar Creek, and Forrest Daniels of Rapid City, S. Dak.; step-daughter Mrs. Beverly Wolford of Dove Creek, Colo., 10 step-grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jerald, Edwin and Don; sisters Virginia Lee, Doris Hoover, and Shirley Kulick [sic Kulek]. Published in The Ashland Gazette, March 19, 1992
