Etna vicinity died at the home of his daughter, Jessie Miller, after an illness of four months, during which time he was tenderly cared for by his daughter and son, Jessie and Orlo. Read More	Another Adams County pioneer passed to his final reward last Friday, February 10th, when "Bing" Means of the Mt. Etna vicinity died at the home of his daughter, Jessie Miller, after an illness of four months, during which time he was tenderly cared for by his daughter and son, Jessie and Orlo. Isaac Bingley Means, son of Oscar and Susan Means, was born in Henry County, Iowa, April 6, 1858. At the time of his death he was aged 74 years, 10 months, and 4 days. When a small child, he, with his parents moved to Illinois, where he grew to manhood. In 1880, he came to Adams County, Iowa, where he has since made his home. On December 17, 1884, he was united in marriage to Susie Bailiff. To this union was born four children, namely Peter O., of Yuma, Colorado, Jabe F., of Corning, Jessie M. and Orlo J. of Mt. Etna. Mr. Means was converted in the Pratt revival meetings in Corning, about 19 years ago and afterwords was baptized into the Church of the Brethren. His last hours were spent praying for all his friends. Besides the immediate family and his many friends, he leaves to mourn their loss, nine grandchildren, three brothers, and one sister. The brothers are George of Mt. Etna, Harrison of Fontanelle, Melvin of Creston, and the sister is Mrs. Zoah Robinson of Onawa, Iowa. His wife preceded him in death November 19, 1917. Three brothers and three sisters also preceded him in death. They are William, James, David, Sarah and Amanda Means, and Mrs. Mary Cooper. Funeral services were held at Mt. Etna, Sunday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock conducted by Rev. Harry K. Rogers. Interment was made in the Mt. Etna Cemetery. Adams County Free Press, February 16, 1933, page 2
