Read More	Cumberland Evening Times: May 6, 1924, p. 16 Lonaconlng, Md.; May 6 - Isaac Bradburn Dead Isaac Bradburn, for years one of Lonaconing's most prominent men and one of the early settlers, died late yesterday afternoon at his home, on Church Street, following a lingering illness. Mr. Bradburn's career began in the coal mines and he gradually rose to the position of general manager of the American Coal Company. Mr. Bradburn was born August 23, 1845 in Staffordshire, England. He was the son of Mary and John Bradford, who came to America in 1848, and immediately went to Georgetown, Pa., and from there to Mt. Savage, Md., on July 4, 1854. In the fall of 1854, in the company of his parents, Mr. Bradburn came to Lonaconing, which was then a sparse settlement, where he has since resided. In February 1874, Mr. Bradburn was promoted from a digger to mine boss of the big vein mine of the New Central Coal Company. Two years later he went to the Jackson mine, where he accepted a similar position. He succeded his father, John Bradburn, in 1888, and Mr. Parrot in 1903, as supertindent of American Coal Company. On June 21, 1867, he was married to Janet Wilson Muir. Mr. Bradburn was one of the founders of the Lonaconing Savings Bank, and for years a director and vice-president of the bank. He was also interested in the Home Electric Light Company. He was founder of the Methodist Episcopal Church here. Besides conributing financial assistance, Mr. Bradburn, it is said, hauled the stones and mortor for the laying of the foundation after his day's work. He was treasure of the church for many years, also a trustee, and an active member of the societies of the church. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Margaret J. Smith, Cumberland; John I. Bradburn, Lonaconing; Isaac Bradburn, Jr., Meyersdale, Pa.; and Mrs. Louis Hess, Chestertown, Md., and his widow, Mrs. Janet Bradburn. The funeral will take place on Thursday, at 2:30 p.m. from the First Methodist Church. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Rev. U. S. Wright will have charge. U. S. Wright, pastor officiating. The funeral was attended by a large number of friends from all sections of the Georges Creek region. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
