Mr Britain was born in the state of Pennsylvania in 1812, on the 26th day of May. Had no children Obituary Died at his home, in Dodge township, Saturday June 27, 1885, in the 73rd year of his age, Isaac Britain. Mr Britain was born in the state of Pennsylvania in 1812, on the 26th day of May. In an early day he moved to Ohio and engaged in the mercantile business for many years, and by honest, upright, legitimate business made it successful. His health failing, he closed up his business and came to Iowa in 1865, and bought what is known as the Dan. Dillon farm, one of the best in the county, where he spent the evening of his life. He was a noble true man, respected by all who knew him, and a friend to the poor, but detested laziness and drunkenness. He was the last one of twelve children. He leaves a wife and a large number of relatives and friends. the Gibbins, Johns, Collins, and Hanums are all relatives here. The funeral services were held on Sunday at one o'clock, in the beautiful lawn at the residence, where an unusual large assembly gathered together in token of respect for one of our best citizens. The services were conducted by Rev Lewis Doran, after which the large procession slowly moved to Linwood Cemetery at Boone.
