Survivors include his wife, Jolene Smoot Cleary; two daughters, Deborah Byers of Hays and Kathy Howard, of New Hampshire; one son, Richard Cleary of Hays; one sister, China Cleary Evans of Florida; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
