Hannah, who passed away at his residence, No. 1528 Fourth Street Wednesday forenoon, July 26th at 11:00 o'clock. A large number of friends gathered at the house and accompanied the remains to the burial plot in Linwood Park Cemetery East. Dr. S.A. Munneke, paster of the First Presbyterian church delivered the sermon, basing his remarks on the verse:So teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom." His sermon was full of good cheer for the grief stricken family and breathed words of confort to the widow and children. Unusually beautiful was the singing. A quartette composed of Miss Marie Kinsman, Mrs. Harry Marston, Clarence Kelly and John Dyer sang, accompanied by Mrs. John Dyer. The selections used were favorites of Mr. Hannah and his family and were "Shall We Gather at the River," Passing Down the Valley," and "Nearer My God to Thee." The remains were taken to Linwood, east, for the final rites. The profusion of flowers spoke of the many friendships of Mr. Hannah. The pall-bearers were all members of Connecting Link Lodge No. 492 I. O. O. F. and were Messrs. A.S. Bunnell, Carl Otis, L.T. McLeod, Dan Reeves, Charles Hunt, and F. M. Henry. Native of Illinois Isaac D. Hannah was a native of Illinois, having been born in Rock Island, Rock Island County, that state. He was united in marriage with Miss Lucinda Glenn, July 3ed, 1867. Nine children blessed this union, seven of whom survive, all of whom, except the daughter in the west being present at the funeral. Surviving with the widow are these children: Lura Date of Seattle, Frank of Duluth, Blanche McQuillin of Omaha, Ed I. of Omaha, Harry of Boone, Hattie Nelson of Omaha and Jessie of Boone. Two daughters have proceded him, Nellie and Nannie. Two sisters, Mrs. Henrietta Smith of Osceola and Mrs. Margaret LaFevre of Carlyle, Pa. and one brother Andrew of Moline, Ill., also servive. Mrs. Smith will arrive in the city tonight and remain for a few days. He served his country in the Civil War, being a member of the 126th Illinois Volounteers. He was baptized in the Presbyterian church and was a member of his faith until the end. He joined the Odd Fellows lodge thirty years ago and was faithful to the teachings of this order thoughout the intervening years. Mr. Hannah was one of the city's substantial pioneers, a man who helped activity to build Boone, interested in her welfare and hopeful for her future. He was an extensive property owner and of late years devoted much of his time to caring for these . In the death of this worthy citizen the city loses a highly respected resident and to the widow and children the sympathy of the entire community is extended.
