Description	:	SMITHVILLE REVIEW Smithville, TN November 9, 1905 Isaac Cantrell, who resided in the twenty-first district near Keltonburg, suicide Tuesday afternoon about one o’clock by shooting himself through the head with a thirty-eight caliber pistol. On Monday he went to McMinnville to carry a shipment of fruit trees, returning in the evening seemingly in his right mind and in good spirits Tuesday morning he helped his two young boys gather corn until noon. When they returned his body was found with the following note addressed to his wife pinned to his coat: “My troubles are so great I can’t bear them. You will find several dollars in my pocket. Take one and give one to each of the children.” Mr Cantrell was an industrious farmer and a good citizen, but his mind has not been strong for years, which was no doubt the cause of his self destruction.
