Loeffler, 93, of Keosauqua, died at 12:10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua. Born July 6, 1910, in Henry County, he was the son of Voyle Hayes and Mabel Florence Eschelman Loeffler. On Dec. 12, 1934, he married Esther McCracken in Knoxville. She died Aug. 29, 1992. Mr. Loeffler was a self–employed carpenter and mason. He lived and worked most of his life in Van Buren County. He also lived and worked in Idaho for several years. Survivors include two daughters, Marlene Nesbit of Port Ludlow, Wash., and Myra Crandall of St. Louis; one son, Daniel Loeffler of Hannibal, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 16 great–grandchildren; one great–great–granddaughter; one brother, Hollis Loeffler of Keosauqua; and nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the time of service Wednesday. The funeral for Mr. Loeffler will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Harold Schnedler officiating. Burial will be in Purdom Cemetery in Keosauqua. A memorial has been established for Purdom Cemetery.
