Spokane, Washington, 15 Feb. 1997). * contributed by Burton Porter I. N. TRENT PASSED AWAY AFTER TWO YEARS ILLNESS Hanson county friends of I. N. Trent of Plankinton were grieved to learn of his death, which occurred on Thursday, January 11. Mr. Trent had been in failing health for two years, and for a number of weeks past the relatives had realized that the end was not far distant. Mr. Trent and family came to this county in 1905, residing upon a farm west of Alexandria until about six years ago, when he moved to Plankinton. He was a man highly esteemed by all who knew him, and made a large number of friends here who will sympathize with the members of the family in their time of sorrow. The following obituary of Mr. Trent is taken from the Plankinton Herald: I. N. Trent passed away at the family residence, just east of town, on Thursday afternoon. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Saturday afternoon by Rev. Wimberly. Isaac N. Trent was born in Schuyler County, Mo., November 21, 1853. Moved to Iowa with his parents in 1861. June 25, 1873, he was united in marriage to Alice Joy. Six children were born to this union, two sons and four daughters. The wife died in February, 1889. He was again united in marriage December, 25, 1889 to Surilda Miller. Three children were born to this union, one son and two daughters. In 1905 he moved with his family to Alexandria where he resided on a farm until six years ago, when he moved with his wife to Plankinton. His health failed two years ago, and he has been a continuous sufferer ever since, until death called him January 11th, 1923, at 1:30 p.m. He is survived by his wife and seven children: Charles A., Murray, Nebraska; Edward D., Michell; Mrs. D. W. Twombley, Weldon, Iowa; Mrs. Bessie Sherron, Halbrite, Canada; Mrs. E. J. Fox, Mitchell; Mrs. G. W. Johnson, Three Forks, Montana, and I. N. Trent, jr., of Plankinton. They were all at his bedside except Charles and Bessie and the daughter who preceded him in death, July 21, 1905. He also leaves a host of friends who will deeply mourn his death. He was a kind husband and father. His kindly disposition made him a friend of all who knew him. * contributed by TLS
