Read More	Corydon Times Republican September 1901 Obituary Isaac Shriver was born in Monroe county, Ohio, Feb. 6, 1844, and fell asleep at his home in Allerton at 7 o'clock a.m., September 20, 1901, being 57 years, 7 months and 14 days old. He had been confined to the house most of the time since that stormy Sunday, Feb. 3, 1901. He bore his suffering patiently. His life was like a summer day, always shedding forth its refreshing rays. Peace to that earthly tabernacle for its keeper has flown to that realm beyond. He moved to Wayne county, Iowa, with his parents when a youth of eleven summers, where he has since resided with the exception of five years that was spent in Colorado. The greater part of his life was spent on the farm seven miles west of Allerton. The last nine years of his life were spent in the furniture and undertaking business in Allerton where he was always pleased to meet and serve his customers. As a farmer he was industrious, careful and successful. As a business man he was honest, frank and genial. On Dec. 7, 1865, he was united in marriage with Miss Cynthia Marick. Their union was blessed with ten children, four sons and six daughters. Two sons and two daughters have preceded the father through the valley and shadow of death. The wife, two sons, four daughters, two brothers and four sisters are left to mourn the loss of a loving companion, a devoted father, and an affectionate brother whose place cannot be filled. Brother Shriver united with the Church of Christ in March, 1877, and has since been a faithful and active Christian; a good part of the time he served the church as deacon. He was regular in church attendance and a liberal giver. His life was filled with noble deeds. The joy of his life was to lift the burdens from heavy hearts and scatter roses of love in the pathway of his fellows. His faith in Christianity never wavered, but was a comfort in his last hours.
