He was born in about 1808 in Champaign County, Ohio in the Mad River Twp area. He married Maria "Mariah" Ward Steinberger on March 4, 1832 in Champaign County, Ohio. They settled in the Nettle Creek area along the Mad River in Ohio. Known Children of Isaac And Maria "Mariah" Ward Steinberger: 1) Louisa Steinberger, born 1834, Champaign County, Ohio; death 1895 in Champaign County, Ohio. Married Joseph Wiley Anderson. They divorced in 1863. She then married Thomas Sewell. 2) George Lockard Ward Steinberger, born 1840, Chaimpaign County, Ohio; death September 3, 1921, Springfield, Clark County, Ohio. Married Ellen Swearingen, July 10, 1863, Champaign County, Ohio by Nelson Rhodes, Jp.. 3) Joseph I. Steinberger, born April 11, 1843, Champaign County, Ohio; death August 20, 1913, Liberty, Logan County, Ohio. Married Catherine Conover. 4) Lafayette Steinberger, born February 28, 1849, Champaign County, Ohio; death January 16, 1921, Clark County, Ohio. Married Ellen Seitz. 5) Rolandus Steinberger, born June 4, 1851, Champaign County, Ohio; death March 29, 1933, Champaign County, Salem, Ohio. Married Maryetta Kessler. 6) Barbara Ann Steinberger, born 1852, Champaign County, Ohio; death 1870, Champaign County, Ohio. 7) Salathiel Steinberger, born April 25, 1858, Champaign County, Ohio; death December 10, 1936, Champaign County, Ohio. Married Emma Beasley. Isaac lived his life entire life along the Mad River in the area where the historic Steinberger Mill once stood where State Route 55 now crosses over the Mad River in Champaign County, Ohio. It is still a rural farming area. He passed from this earth on September 4, 1868 at home.
