Description	:	Death of Isaac Theobald This community was saddened last Tuesday evening by word of the death of Isaac Theobald, long time Strang citizen and businessman. Death occurred the evening of June 19, 1945, at a hospital in Beatrice, NE. He had been taken to Beatrice only a short time before by his son Dwight for medical aid. Read More	Death of Isaac Theobald This community was saddened last Tuesday evening by word of the death of Isaac Theobald, long time Strang citizen and businessman. Death occurred the evening of June 19, 1945, at a hospital in Beatrice, NE. He had been taken to Beatrice only a short time before by his son Dwight for medical aid. He had been in business here for almost 40 years and will be greatly missed by his friends and customers. Isaac Theobald was born in Mason City, IL, January 5, 1870. He moved to Nebraska when a young man, locating on a farm southeast of Strang. November 11, 1896 he was united in marriage to Roena Mae Barnett and to this union were born five children, all of whom survive. In 1906 Mr. Theobald move to Strang, where he first operated a feed mill and later a general store and the past several years a grocery store. His wife preceded him in death. Those left to mourn his death are; Mrs Gladys Powell of Lincoln, Mrs Bernice Myers of Denver, CO, Mrs Blanche Baxendale of Lovell, WY, Dwight C. Theobald of Beatrice, and Pfc. Darwin B. Theobald in the South Pacific. Seven grandchildren, three of whom are in the service, and one great grandson, Donald Dean Moore of Omaha. Besides these relatives Mr. Theobald leaves many friends who mourn his passing. All the children except Darwin were present at the funeral. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, June 22, at the United Brethren church at Strang with the Rev. Walter Millett officiating. Interment was in the Chelsea cemetery, one-half mile east of the Chelsea church.
