| Description | : | Isaac was the son of Thomas J Thornton and his second wife Sarah Elizabeth Thomas. Thomas was born 11 October 1762 in North Carolina. Sarah was born in 1793 and married Thomas Thornton in Montgomery County, Ohio on 1 September 1813. Isaac married first Anna Henderson on 25 July 1839 at Ohio. He married as his second wife Rebeca Stanfield on 22 January 1846. Isaac was killed in a railroad accident near Dayton, Montgomery county, Ohio coming back to Iowa from the Centenial in Philadelphia.
