Description	:	Isabel Elizabeth Sheets was the daughter of Jacob Sheets and Nancy Sinks. She married (1) Charles Cavalier French on 13 December 1846 in Lebanon, Boone County, Indiana. He died 25 December 1855 and she married (2) Walter Ciliwell Murphy/Murphey on 12 November 1861 in Story County, Iowa. From Nevada Representative April 2, 1890 Asleep. On Friday evening March 28th, at her home in Richland township, Mrs. Isabel Murphy, wife of Walter C. Murphy, entered the rest beyond. Mrs. Murphy was born in Boone county, Indiana, and was united in marriage to Walter C. Murphy in 1861. She was sixty years, two months and twenty four days of age at the time of her death, and for nearly a quarter century had been a consistent member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, having united with the same April 8, 1866. Though borne down by many trials in her earlier life yet she was ever ready to minister to the comfort of others and her life and example are a shining memorial of her. The entire community feel that by her death they have lost a true Christian friend and a comforter in every time of trouble. The husband, eight children, five by a former marriage, and one sister are left to mourn their loss. The funeral services were held Lord's Day afternoon at 1:30 P. M. and were conducted by her pastor, Rev. Geo. H. Schnur, who spoke briefly from Psalm 197:2--"For so he giveth his beloved sleep." The church was filled to overflowing with the relatives and many friends, and as the strains of "Nearer my God to Thee" and other hymns, favorites of the deceased, were sung, many voices trembled and eyes were dimmed with tears. On the casket were many tasteful and appropriate floral emblems, the work of loving hand. The interment took place at the cemetery near the church, the ceremony concluding at the grave, according to the impressive Lutheran liturgy. "God doth His own in safety keep, He giveth His beloved sleep." N. I. C. From Story County Watchman April 4, 1890 DIED.--On Friday evening, March 28th, 1890, Mrs. Isabel Murphy, wife of Walter C. Murphy, died; her age was 60 years 2 months and 24 days. Mrs. Murphy was born in Boone county, Indiana, near Indianapolis, removed to this county at an early day. Left a widow with several small children, she found her younger days full of toil and trial. In October 1861 she became the wife of Mr. Murphy who is well known as one of the pioneer farmers of the Johnson's Grove neighborhood. She leaves her husband and eight children to mourn her departure, besides one sister, Mrs. W. M. Kelley. As a wife, a mother, a neighbor, she will be sorely missed. Her quiet unassuming piety; her loving friendliness, her self-sacrficing labors will not soon be forgotten, her character and influence will live long in the family, in the community and in the church. April 8th, 1866, she was received into the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, of Richland Township by baptism and has ever sence lived a faithful and conscientious christian. May the youth and rising generation of that community be as true to their best interests. The funeral service was held at the St. Paul's Church on Lord's Day, March 30th, at 2 p. m. Despite the very bad condition of the roads, fully 250 people assembled to show their regard for a departed friend. The remains were interred in the township cemetery near the church. Thus passed away one of earth's toilers; her labors are over, and, as we believe, she has entered into the true life beyond the vail, "For so he giveth his beloved sleep." PASTOR.
