OBITUARY GWYNN — Mrs. Belle Gwynn, wife of John H. Gwynn, and daughter of Wm. Pollard, was born in Shelby county, Mo., Jan. 6th, 1858; died July 19th, 1892 at 9:10 p. m., after a lingering illness, of consumption. Aged 33 years, 6 months and 13 days. Mrs. Gwynn's mother died when the deceased was about 13 year old, leaving 4 children — all daughter — one older and two younger than Mrs. Gwynn. She united with the Christian church when 16 or 17 years of age. On April 17th, 1883, she was married to John H. Gwynn, her now bereaved husband. Mrs. Gwynn gad been in ill health for several years prior to her death, and bed-fast for nearly 5 months. In 1888 she with her husband and little girl moved to Texas in the hope of benefitting her health, but she being dissatisfied with the country, they remained but a short while, coming back to Shelby county and settling down near her father's where she lived until called away by the cold hand of death. During her illness she suffered greatly, and often prayed for death to relieve her. At her request she was taken to Shelbyville, and after funeral discourse delivered by Rev. J. T. Welch she was laid to rest in the I. O. O. F. cemetery, there to await the await the final resurrection of the dead. She leaves a husband and two little girls, aged 8 and 2 1/2 years, a father and three sisters, and many relatives and friends who will mourn her death. "She is not dead this child of our affection.
