Description	:	Isabella was born on April 2, 1907 in Marshall County, SD to Joseph and Cecelia (Thuringer) Janisch. She attended Sisseton Public School and in 1926 she graduated from Sisseton High School. Following school she worked at Ft. Sisseton. On October 4, 1928 she married Hubert Opitz in Eden. They farmed in the Eden area until 1974 when Hubert retired from farming and they moved into Eden. Hubert passed away in 1980. Isabella continued to live in Eden until one week ago. Isabella enjoyed playing cards and reading. She is survived by one son, Delmar (Sibylla) Opitz of Webster, SD; two daughters, Arlene (Don) Quarve of St. Cloud, MN and Pat (David) Waletich of Milbank, SD; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Walter Janisch of Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister. Isabella M. Opitz, 95, of Webster, SD died Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at Lake Area Hospital in Webster. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eden with the Fr. Jim Friedrich officiating. Burial was in the St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Eden. Visitation was from 1:00p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday, May 27, 2002 at the Mohs Funeral Home in Webster. Visitation resumed from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Scared Heart Catholic Church in Eden with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation resumed again one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday.
