On February 22, 1876, she was united in marriage with Jarius C. Mack, who preceded her in death June 10, 1919. To this union five children were born, Mrs. Dollie N. Savage of Burns, Oregon, Mrs. Lulu M. Nash, Mrs. Donzella Engel, Ira G. and Fred C. Mack, all of Central City. She is also survived by five brothers, fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, besides a host of friends. She grew to womanhood in Illinois and with her family moved to California in 1882. She resided there three years and came to Nebraska in 1885, and has been a resident of Merrick county for 48 years. In 1917 she moved from her home on the farm north of the city to enjoy the fruits of her labors. Mrs. Mack was converted when quite young, and united with the Methodist Episcopal church continuing in this relation until her death. In her 78th year, with mind clear and faculties well preserved, she was able to converse with perfect ease on the matter of Christian experience, and of the time when she knelt at the altar of God and experienced the joy of forgiveness. To her pastor she expressed her regret that weakness of body prevented her attendance upon the means of grace, but said she could talk with Jesus at home. She was also a member of Colfax Rebekah Lodge of Central City. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, a faithful friend whom we shall miss sadly. She has gone to a place where her poor tired hands shall rest. But we shall feel the soothing touch of those dear hands in each gentle breeze that blows, shall see that sweet smile in the sunshine and each blooming flower; each rain drop shall be her tear of sympathy and understanding, and the brightest stars her shining light ot lead us on to the place in Heaven where she awaits us. The funeral service was held from the M.E. Church in this city Friday afternoon, March 24th, at 3:00o'clock, conducted by Rev. J.H. Hall. The pall-bearers were August C. Zamzow, Claude Carrington, Warren Riggs, Oscar Clark, Edgar Daily and Wm. Lyon. The flowere girls were Misses Alice and Estella Clark, Mrs. Chas. Schafer, and Mrs. J.H. Hall. Music was furninshed by a male quartet. A lingering illness brought this life to a close. The body was conveyed to its resting place in the cemetery north of the city to await the sound of the trumpet that shall bid us take up the skyward march. Mother, thou art sweetly resting; All thy cares of life are o'er. Thou hast passed the shining portals Of that bright eternal shore. Angel friends we know did greet thee, Greet thee on the golden strand, Clasp hands in loving welcome, Welcome to that heavenly land. One more chair at home is vacant, One more place none else can fill; But our mother's safe in glory, Tho' her voice to us is still. But she's been so very faithful, Faithful to her Lord and Master, Faithful to her trusts so true, Faithful to her loved ones too. Much we'll miss thee, dearest mother, Miss thy precious form so dear, Long to hear thy voice in welcome, Long to feel thy presence near.
