Description	:	Isadore Mary Pipho, of Waverly and formerly of Denver and Readlyn, died Sunday, December 14, 2014, at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly. Isadore was born on July 29, 1913, in rural Westgate, Iowa, the daughter of Adolph and Amanda (Oltrogge) Bartels. She was baptized on August 24, 1913, at Hope Lutheran Church, Westgate, and confirmed April 10, 1927, Zion Lutheran Church, Readlyn. Isadore attended Maxfield #2 country school through the 8th grade. Isadore was born on July 29, 1913, in rural Westgate, Iowa, the daughter of Adolph and Amanda (Oltrogge) Bartels. She was baptized on August 24, 1913, at Hope Lutheran Church, Westgate, and confirmed April 10, 1927, Zion Lutheran Church, Readlyn. Isadore attended Maxfield #2 country school through the 8th grade. On February 8, 1939, Isadore was united in marriage to Lester Clefisch at Zion Lutheran Chruch, Readlyn, Iowa. The couple farmed near Edgewood for a year, near Knittel Corners, rural Readlyn, for a time, and then near Monona, Iowa. Lester died on December 13, 1943, shortly before Vernon was born and Isadore moved back to live with her parents. On January 30, 1951, Isadore was united in marriage to Henry O. Pipho at St. John's Lutheran Church-Maxfield, rural Denver. The couple settled on the Bartels farm near Knittel, rural Readlyn, where they farmed until 1988, retired, and moved to Waverly. Following Henry's death in 1995, Isadore moved to her apartment in Denver. Isadore was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church-Maxfield, rural Denver. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and quilting, however, what she enjoyed most was spending time with family. Isadore's memory is honored by her son, Vernon (Mary Ann) Clefisch of Readlyn; three grandchildren, Gary (Sarah) of Charles City, Mark of Cedar Falls, and Leslie (Ben) of Imperial, California; seven great-grandchildren, Kelsey Anne, Jordon, Garrett, Elena, Max, Cass, and Samantha. She was preceded in death by: her parents; both husbands; and two brothers, Elmer and Wilbert Bartels. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, at St. John's Lutheran Church-Maxfield, rural Denver, Iowa. Burial will follow at St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18, at St. John Lutheran Church- Maxfield where the family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church-Maxfield or donor's choice.
