Description	:	TAYLOR — Isla Lucille Emerton, 97, of the Taylor, Loup County area, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at Calvary United Methodist Church in Taylor, with the Rev. Dennis Davenport officiating. Burial will follow in the Taylor cemetery. Isla was born Feb. 12, 1918, at the family farm in rural Loup County to John Robertson and Susie Dell (Reynolds) Ferguson. Except for residing a few years at the Plaza and Burwell Community Health Center, Isla lived her entire life in Loup County. She graduated valedictorian from Taylor High School in 1935. She received a normal training teaching certificate and taught in rural schools in Loup and Custer County. In 1939, she married Robert Carter Bohy. After his death in 1941, she and son Richard lived in Taylor, where Isla managed the Firestone store for her brother, Miles. She married Herbert Eugene Emerton on Sept. 21, 1946, living most of their married life in the Kent Community of Loup County. Isla was active in many community organizations, including the Kent Korner Klub, Eastern Star, PEO and Loup County Historical Society, and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was a leader of local 4-H clubs and a strong supporter of both the Kent rural school and Loup County High School, attending athletic events, plays, speech contests and other school events into her late 80s. At her death, she was the oldest living alumnus of Loup County (Taylor) High School. Isla is survived by her sons and spouses, Richard L. (Jane) Bohy of Sioux Falls, S.D., Thomas A. (Seanne) Emerton of Cairo, David L. (Gina) Emerton of Omaha, and Max D. (Debra) Emerton of Taylor; 10 grandchildren, Ryan Bohy (Kim Lockrem), Allision Bohy, Nathan (Britt) Emerton, Rachel (Tyler) Cotten, Andrew (Megan) Emerton, Sara Emerton, Adam (Staci) Emerton, Matthew Emerton, Tiffany Emerton and Austin Emerton; and great-grandchildren, Anna Lockrem, Ryan Lockrem, Addision Bohy, Johnny Cotten, Henrik Emerton, Layla Cotten, Jesse Cotten, and Garrett Emerton. Also surviving are brothers, Ivan Ferguson, Gerald (Joan) Ferguson and Larry (Sally) Ferguson; and a sister-in-law, Jeanette Ferguson. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Robert Bohy, in 1941; second husband, Herbert Emerton, in 1984; brothers, Lloyd Ferguson, Wayne Ferguson, Miles Ferguson, Erwin Ferguson and Royce Ferguson; and sister, Irma Ferguson Hayhurst.
